Infant sleeper recalls get re-announced after 12 baby deaths since the original recall

Though Fisher-Price recalled 4.7 million Rock ‘N’ Play Sleepers in 2019 and Kids2 recalled 694,000 Rocking Sleepers in April 2019, 12 baby deaths in the sleepers since then prompted the companies to announce the recalls again Monday.

As the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission alerts stated, “Infant fatalities have occurred in the Rocking Sleepers/Rock ‘N’ Play Sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.”

For the Fisher-Price sleepers, this covers all varieties of the Rock ‘N’ Play sleepers that were involved in over 30 deaths at the time of the original recall.

“Since the recall, approximately 70 additional fatalities have been reported, which includes at least eight fatalities that were reported to have occurred after the initial recall announcement,” Monday’s recall re-up states.

Fisher-Price wants consumers to contact the company for a refund or a voucher and reminds consumers selling the sleepers is illegal.

To see if your sleeper is in this recall, go online to the Fisher-Price/Mattel site. You can register for a refund or voucher there, too, but you can also call 866-812-6518, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eastern time.
