When the Indianapolis Colts face off against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon, the team could be short-handed.

According to a report from Colts insider Zak Keefer, star linebacker Darius Leonard wasn’t at practice on Thursday. He missed Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury, but it was something new that kept him out today.

Keefer reported Leonard is battling an illness – that is not COVID-19 related.

Losing Leonard for Sunday’s game would be a massive loss for the Colts. While the team is uncertain if Leonard can play, there are questions about the team’s offensive line as well.

According to multiple reports, both starting offensive tackles Eric Fisher and Braden Smith might not play on Sunday. That would mean the Colts would go up against Aaron Donald and the Rams without two of their best offensive linemen.

With Quenton Nelson already battling an injury of his own, that doesn’t bode well for the Colts.

Indianapolis opened the 2021 season with a loss to the Seattle Seahawks and could easily be starting 0-2 in the face.
