Indiana basketball legend Larry Bird stars with 'Mayhem' in hilarious Allstate commercial

Indiana basketball legend Larry Bird meets "Mayhem" in his latest television commercial.

"Mayhem," the all-around distraction for Allstate Insurance played by Dean Winters, is a bird in Larry Bird's attic, prompting a "What the heck?" from Bird, who goes up to investigate.

Mayhem taunts Bird with a "Brick!" after Bird swings and misses with a lacrosse stick.

"You may be a legend on the court, but you're an amateur up here," Mayhem says.

Bird eventually falls through the attic floor, prompting the Allstate tagline to be "protected from mayhem, like me."

Bird has been a frequent commercial presence over the years (McDonald's, Capital One, Gatorade, AT&T), with ads often released around NCAA Tournament and NBA playoffs.
