Ina Garten kicked off International Women's Day kicked off with an incredibly heartfelt tribute to one of her heroes. To celebrate the holiday, Garten penned a touching message to another food icon, Julia Child, and also shared a series of photos of the legendary chef.

In the note, which was shared on Instagram, Ina touched on the struggles Julia faced at the start of her career and applauded her for her bravery.

Garten discussed the pushback Julia's book, Mastering the Art French Cooking, received from its publisher. Despite the book's publisher declaring that he'd "eat his hat" if anyone purchased Mastering the Art French Cooking, the book reportedly went on to sell more than 1.5 million copies (as of September 2011). No hats were harmed as a result of its success.

"Everyone doubted Julia Child; the producer of WGBH in Boston thought no one wanted to watch her make an omelet on television and her publisher Alfred Knopf famously said that if anyone bought a book with the title 'Mastering the Art French Cooking,' he’d 'eat his hat.' But Julia believed in herself and her passion for cooking and, as they say, the rest is history. She is my idol," Ina wrote in her caption.

And just as Ina applauded Julia for being a trailblazer in the industry, fans expressed their admiration and respect for Ina in the comments of her post.

"You followed right in her footsteps. From one queen to another," one fan wrote.

"Julia Child was an incredibly accomplished, talented, pioneer of a woman. @inagarten, I hope you know that many of us also view you in that way. You taught us how to cook and your positive presence has had an everlasting effect on so many," another fan wrote.

Who knew this much positivity could exist on social media?
