These are Illinois' best companies to work for in the US, according to Forbes
Illinois cracked the top three in this year's Forbes report for best midsize employers to work for, in a recent survey.
The yearly ranking system of midsize and large size employers is conducted by Forbes in partnership with market research firm Statista; the latest survey reached over 170,000 workers at companies across the continental U.S., who answered honestly about their employers and workplace.
For jurisdiction and size classing, companies that employed between 1,000 to 5,000 employees were put into the midsize classification, while companies larger than 5,000 were put into the heavyweight category. The midsize list of companies capped out at 400 positions, while the large size organizations capped out at 600.
Here's a look at all the businesses that are either headquartered or have a facility in Illinois that made the list.

Methodology behind the ranks
Employees were asked if they would recommend their employer to friends and others, as well as rate their current employer. People who could participate in the study included current employees, past employees who had been employed within the last two years and individuals familiar with the company—however current and former employees' answers had heavier weight on the rankings scale.
Overall report data followed three years worth of information collection, with latest data weighing more to better classify the year to year shift in the company’s ratings.
