Idaho state controller is running for reelection. Hear from him about his priorities

Idahoans will decide whether to bring State Controller Brandon Woolf back to the Idaho Capitol in the Nov. 8 general election.

Working closely with the state treasurer, the state controller is responsible for paying Idaho’s roughly 25,000 state employees and for paying the expenditures for 85 state agencies.

“The controller is like the checkbook for the state,” Woolf told the Idaho Statesman.

This year, there will be three candidates vying to serve a four-year term as state controller. Woolf faces challenges from Democrat Dianna David and Constitution Party candidate Miste Gardner.

The Idaho Statesman sent surveys to all the candidates in the contested race. Gardener did not respond, and David did not wish to participate. Woolf’s responses are copied below.
