Fresh off the first Elite Eight appearance in program history, the Miami Hurricanes men’s basketball team will play a tough Atlantic Coast Conference schedule, including a home-and-home with Virginia Tech, Duke and Florida State, the conference announced Tuesday.

Miami opens ACC competition Dec. 4 at Louisville. The Hurricanes defeated the Cardinals on the road for the first time last season. Miami will return home Dec. 10 to play NC State followed by a matchup with the 2019 NCAA champion Virginia Dec. 20.

The Hurricanes then travel to Notre Dame to face the Fighting Irish either Dec. 30 or 31.

Miami’s first of two games against Duke, which advanced to the 2022 Final Four but plays now without coach Mike Krzyzweski, will take place in Durham Jan. 21. The Hurricanes will have home-court advantage the next time they battle the Blue Devils Feb. 6.

The Jan. 21 matchup marks the beginning of a three-game conference road trip, Miami’s longest of the season. The Hurricanes play at Florida State Jan. 24 and at Pittsburgh Jan. 28. Miami will see the Seminoles in Coral Gables for a rematch Feb. 25 and close out conference play against the Panthers at home March 4.

The Hurricanes will then return home to play reigning ACC tournament champion Virginia Tech at the Watsco Center Feb. 1.

But perhaps Miami’s toughest test will come Feb. 13, as they journey to Chapel Hill to face 2022 national runner-up North Carolina. But Miami head coach Jim Larrañaga said his team will be ready to perform.

“Everyone in our program enjoys the challenges this conference presents on a nightly basis and we will be ready for that once league play begins,” Larrañaga said in a release.
