Human skull, bones among remains discovered on Summer Street in Easton

EASTON — A likely human skull and bones are among the remains discovered in Easton this week, prosecutors said.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office said that "more human bones" were discovered during a search on Thursday, one day after Easton police said potential human remains were discovered on Summer Street.

Police received a call about 12:53 p.m. Wednesday from two Summer Street residents who said they had located what appeared to be a human skull in the brook near 100 Summer St.

"When police arrived on scene yesterday, they observed the item and determined it was likely a human skull," Gregg Miliote, a spokesperson for Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, said in an email.

Police conducted an additional search of the general area on Thursday and located "more human bones," he said.

"The search of the area will continue," Miliote said. "The bones will be forensically tested to attempt to identify them in the coming days and weeks."
