HS Football: Here’s a list of Middle Georgia’s playoff teams and their games this week

With the regular season concluded, high school football playoffs are just around the corner.

Lots of Middle Georgia teams had solid seasons, with all-time winning streaks and historic comebacks highlighting the year. Here are the Middle Georgia teams that made the playoffs and when they’ll play next.

GHSA Class 6A

Northside vs Glynn Academy

Northside earned a No. 2 seed in their region of the 6A bracket at 6-4 and will face off against Region 2’s No. 3 team, 6-4 Glynn Academy, on Friday.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: McConnell Talbert Stadium

Houston County (8-2) vs Brunswick (10-0)

Houston County finished behind Northside in region play as a No.4 seed. They’ll have to go on the road to face the No. 1 seed from Region 2, the undefeated Brunswick Pirates.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: Glynn County Stadium, Brunswick

GHSA Class 5A

Warner Robins (6-4) vs Jenkins (4-6)

The Demons finished the season red-hot with five straight wins. They’ll face the Region 1 No. 3 seed, the Jenkins Warriors of Savannah, at home in the first round.

  • When: Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: McConnell Talbert Stadium

Jones County (6-4) vs Ware County (9-0)

The Greyhounds managed to make the playoffs in their last game of the season, but will face a tough challenge in round one on the road against the undefeated Ware County Gators, a No. 1 seed.

  • When: Saturday, Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m.

  • Where: Memorial Stadium, Ware County

GHSA Class 4A

Perry (9-1) vs Shaw (4-6)

Perry has been dominant all year, granting them a No. 1 against No. 4 matchup in the first round. They’ll face the Shaw Raiders from Columbus at home.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 (Time TBA)

  • Where: The Panther Pit, Perry

Westside (7-3) vs Cairo (7-3)

The Seminoles finished the year strong with a win over Howard. They’ll be evenly matched against the Cairo Syrupmakers in a good round one matchup.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m.

  • Where: West Thomas Stadium in Cairo

Baldwin (4-6) vs Bainbridge (6-4)

The Braves dominated Griffin to close out their season and enter the playoffs. They’ll go on the road as the Region 2 No.4 seed to take on the Region 1 No. 1 Bainbridge Bearcats.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: Centennial Field in Bainbridge

GHSA Class 3A

Peach County (7-3) vs Crisp County (5-5)

The Trojans won the region in their last game thanks to a thrashing of Jackson, securing the region No. 1 seed with the win. They’ll face the Region 1 No. 4 seeded Crisp County Cougars.

  • When: Saturday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m.

  • Where: Trojan Stadium in Fort Valley

Mary Persons (6-4) vs Dougherty (8-2)

The Bulldogs ended the year with two solid wins over region opponents but will face a tough challenge to open the playoffs. The Dougherty Trojans are a lower seed (No. 3 in Region 1) than Mary Persons, but are still 8-2 coming from Albany.

  • When: Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: Dan Pitts Stadium in Forsyth

Upson Lee (4-6) vs Carver (7-2)

The Knights made it into the postseason as the No. 5 team but are met with a rough first round matchup. Columbus’s Carver Tigers come in as the No. 1 team from Region 1 and had several strong performances through the year, including a 40-0 thumping of eventual region champion Spencer.

  • When: Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: Memorial Stadium in Columbus

GHSA Class 2A

ACE (8-2) vs Cook (7-3)

ACE tore through region opponents all year in what has been their best season to date, but fell victim to tough luck, as their only two losses came to their best region opponents. They are the No. 3 seed and must open the playoffs on the road against the Region 1 No. 2 Cook Hornets.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 (Time TBA)

  • Where: Cook Memorial Stadium in Adel

Northeast (7-3) vs Worth County (8-2)

The Raiders had a strong season, highlighted by an amazing year from one of the state’s best backs, Nick Woodford. Northeast earned the No. 2 seed in their region and will be one of the only Macon teams with a home playoff game, facing the No. 3 Worth County Rams.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: Thompson Stadium in Macon

Central (3-7) vs Fitzgerald (10-0)

The Chargers had an up-and-down season but came through when it mattered in region play, taking down rival Southwest to make the playoffs in their last game. They will have to play against the undefeated Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane, who have dominated opponents all year.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: Jaycee Stadium in Fitzgerald

GHSA Class A-Division 1

Bleckley County (8-2) vs Brooks County (7-2)

The Royals played well all season but had bad region luck, only earning the No. 3 seed. They’ll have a tough road game against the No. 2 Brooks County Trojans.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: Veterans Stadium in Quitman

Crawford County (3-7) vs Screven County (8-1)

Crawford County played well in region games despite their record, earning the No. 4 seed. They have a date with the Screven County Gamecocks, who are coming off of a blowout loss.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: Kelly Memorial Stadium in Sylvania

GIAA Class 4A

Tattnall (6-4) vs Westfield (5-5)

Though the Trojans ended the season with a heart-breaking loss in the region championship, they still earned a No. 3 seed and a home game to open the playoffs against the No. 6 Hornets.

  • Where: Jack Baynes Field in Macon

Stratford (7-3) vs TBA (Winner of George Walton/Strong Rock)

The Eagles stumbled after a strong start but played well enough against FPD to earn the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. They’ll get a home matchup against the winner of the No. 7 vs No. 10 play-in game.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 18 (Time TBA)

  • Where: Cantrell Stadium in Macon

FPD (2-8) vs Brookstone (7-3)

The Vikings earned the No. 5 seed to narrowly avoid a play-in game. They’ll try to avenge an overtime loss to Brookstone earlier this year.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Where: Memorial Stadium in Macon

Mount de Sales (2-8) vs Bethlehem Christian (9-1)

The Cavaliers had a tough go of it this year but will have a play-in spot thanks to a small region field. They’ll be facing a strong Bethlehem team for the first time this season on the road.

  • When: Friday, Nov. 11 (Time TBA)

  • Where: Bethlehem Christian Academy in Bethlehem

GIAA Class 3A

John Milledge (10-0) vs TBA

The Trojans tied the record for longest winning streak in Georgia history at 47 games last week, so it’s unsurprising they qualified for a bye. They’ll face the winner of the Heritage/Lakeview play-in game.

  • Where: John Milledge Academy in Milledgeville
