House Wine and Family Business Beer Co. announced plans to relocate this week

House Wine is moving to a new location after 16 years at its pink-doored bar, and Family Business Beer Co. is also on the hunt for a new spot.

House Wine plans 'new chapter' on South First Street

In an Instagram post, House Wine announced the relocation from 408 Josephine St., saying "it’s time for a new chapter." Eater Austin then reported May 27 will mark House Wine's last day and that the death of the property's landlord prompted the hunt for a new storefront.

While House Wine didn't reveal its new location in its Instagram post, Eater Austin says the bar will sit at 1711 South First St. in Bouldin Creek come late June.

The bar held a 16th anniversary celebration on May 18, and May 27 will serve as its last open mic night.

Family Business Beer Co. seeks 'the perfect taproom location in Austin'

As for Family Business Beer Co., the business announced the temporary closure of its Dripping Springs location, also through Instagram, as the owners "continue (their) search for the perfect taproom location in Austin." It's unclear when the taproom may reopen.

The company is also working on establishing a state-wide presence and selling products in stores. Family Business Beer Co. is owned by Jensen Ackles, an actor best known for "Supernatural," and some of his family members, including his wife and brother-in-law.
