A new hotel is being built near Mayfaire. Here's what we know about location, size, amenities

A new hotel near Mayfaire Town Center is on its way to completion.

The Renaissance Park area located off of Military Cutoff Road continues to grow as it’s already home to TowneBank, Springhill Suites, Hudson Renaissance apartments and more. Now, after site plans were submitted last year, a Tru by Hilton is popping up right next to the Springhill Suites by Marriott.

Here's what you need to know about the project.

Who owns the site?

Raleigh’s Parks Hospitality Group president, Shaunak Patel, is listed as the owner of the site. The hotel and development management company is responsible for a portfolio of over 1,400 rooms throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia.

How many rooms will it include?

The hotel, which is located at 1010 Ashes Drive and covers around 1.4 acres of land, is planned to have four stories with 101 rooms. According to the plan, the new hotel has a cross-parking agreement with the adjacent development and will provide 126 regular parking spaces and three handicap parking spaces on the Tru by Hilton site.

How will the hotel impact traffic?

With both the Renaissance Market and The Forum next door, the growing area already sees an estimated 807 vehicles passing through each day. With the addition of the 60,781-square-foot property, the trip generation included in the site plans estimates a total of 46 morning peak hour trips and a total of 60 afternoon peak hour trips.

What amenities will the hotel include?

The hotel’s amenities will include free breakfast, a 24/7 market, a four-zone lobby with a game area, workspaces, a fitness center and free Wi-Fi and charging stations.

When will it open?

Efforts to reach the developer were not immediately successful, though online booking indicates that hotel reservations can be made in just a few months, on May 29.

What hotels are nearby?

Other hotels already located in the area, include Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Residence Inn by Marriott.
