Hot dog! A sign of spring for North Central Mass. can be found in Baldwinville

For over 80 years, the opening of Lee's Hot Dog Stand in Baldwinville has always been a favorite sign of spring for Greater Gardner residents.

The roadside eatery at 31 Central St. specializes in fried clams, boneless chicken wings, cheeseburgers, onion rings, ice cream, and – of course – hot dogs.

The neighborhood fixture began as the Corner Cupboard, which was opened by Fay F. Lee and his wife, Harriet, in 1937.

Lee's Hot Dog Stand, which recently expanded its parking lot and began accepting credit cards, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The stand typically closes for the season after Columbus Day.
