Hope Solo, former star goalie of the U.S women’s national team, has found herself in legal trouble once again.

Solo was arrested Thursday after she was found passed out behind the wheel of her car in North Carolina. Her two-year-old twins also in the car. The 40-year-old was charged with DWI, resisting a public officer and misdemeanor child abuse.

On Saturday, the two-time Olympic gold medalist released a statement.

“For those who have reached out showing love and support, thank you,” Solo began. “Our family is strong and surrounded with love. Our kids are strong, intelligent, happy and vibrant, and we are present everyday giving them the best life possible.”

The former World Cup champion said she will be able to share the facts of the case “in due time.”

But, “In the meantime, our kids are enjoying the [North Carolina] sun, eating popsicles and playing on our property,” Solo continued. Concluding, “Life can be tough, but these are the moments that truly matter.”

This isn’t Hope Solo’s first run-in with the law. She was suspended by the USWNT back in 2015 after her and husband Jerramy Stevens were pulled over in a U.S. Soccer-owned vehicle. Stevens was charged with DUI.

One year prior, Solo was arrested after an altercation with family members. But, charges were ultimately dropped.

Hope Solo is set to be inducted into the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame in May.
