Honoring Veterans: Palm Beach County gears up for Veterans Day 2023

Palm Beach County is gearing up to honor its military heroes in grand style this Veterans Day.

As the nation prepares to pay tribute to its brave servicemen and women, Palm Beach County is ready to lead the way with an array of remarkable Veterans Day events that promise to unite the community and celebrate the selfless dedication of our military veterans. From heartfelt ceremonies and parades to special offers and gala celebrations, Palm Beach County's Veterans Day events are will provide memorable experiences while highlighting the county's deep appreciation for those who have served.

Jupiter

Join the Town of Jupiter in honoring veterans Saturday, November 11, at the Jupiter Veterans Memorial, located at 210 Military Trail. The event will begin at 9 a.m. This Veterans Day, the town will unveil the newly installed memorial bricks from the first brick order.

Palm Beach Gardens

The City of Palm Beach Gardens honors our nation's heroes on Veterans Day at the Veterans Plaza Amphitheater located at 10500 N. Military Trail. The celebration starts at 11 a.m.

This year's event features keynote speaker, U.S. Army veteran Danielle Green, representing the Wounded Warrior Project. Following her address, guests will enjoy a concert by the Mark Green Orchestra. The ceremony will commence with the Presentation of Colors, presented by the Palm Beach Gardens Police and Fire-Rescue Honor Guard.

West Palm Beach

As Veterans Day approaches, the Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach is gearing up for a weekend of gratitude and celebration. On Nov. 11 and Nov. 12, Mounts Botanical will offer free admission to currently serving members of the armed forces and military veterans with IDs. The usual admission fee of $15 for non-members will be waived for this special occasion.

In addition to free admission, the Garden is extending a 10 percent discount to veterans in the Mounts Gift Shop and Vintage Garden Thrift Shop.

The Mounts Botanical Garden, a 20-acre oasis in West Palm Beach, will host a range of horticultural activities during Veterans Day weekend:

November 11: Spirit Walk Imagery Board Game: Participants can engage in this unique outdoor journey of reconnection, guided by Native American flute music. The game focuses on choices involving the senses and intuition, promoting wellness, playfulness, self-love, and more. Registration and class details are available here.

November 12: Dogs' Day in the Garden: A dog-and-family-friendly event allowing visitors to explore the Garden with their furry companions. Guidelines and rules can be found on the Mounts Botanical Garden website.

Lake Worth Beach

Ceremony of Honor at Cultural Plaza

The City of Lake Worth Beach extends an open invitation to residents and visitors alike to participate in their Veterans Day Ceremony of Honor. This significant event will start at 11 a.m. at the Lake Worth Beach Cultural Plaza located at 414 Lake Ave., Lake Worth Beach.

Emerald Torch Awards Gala at PBSC

Palm Beach State College (PBSC) will mark its 90th anniversary by hosting the inaugural Emerald Torch Awards Gala. This special event will pay tribute to community heroes, with a focus on military veterans and PBSC alumni.

The Emerald Torch Awards Gala serves a dual purpose: to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the community, including veterans and alumni, and to support student scholarships and educational programs. The gala will take place at 6 p.m. at the Fire Academy Complex on PBSC's Lake Worth Beach campus, located at 4200 Congress Ave in Lake Worth Beach.

All proceeds generated from this ticketed event will be directed towards The Foundation for Palm Beach State College. The foundation's mission is to fund student scholarships and enhance academic programs. For more information please visit www.palmbeachstate.edu/TorchAwards.

Boynton Beach

The City of Boynton Beach will be hosting its annual Veterans Day ceremony to honor the men and women who have served our country. The event is at 11 a.m. at the Boynton Beach Veterans Memorial Park, located at 411 N. Federal Highway, Boynton Beach.

Delray Beach

The Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is having a Veterans Day Tribute Concert on Nov. 10 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Amphitheatre at Old School Square located at 51 N. Swinton Ave. The free concert features "The Resilient", an American rock band made up of severely wounded U.S. combat veterans. Food and beverage vendors will be on site. No outside alcohol is allowed in the venue.

Boca Raton

'Red, White and Boca' celebration at Mizner Park

The City of Boca Raton will honor Veterans Day with a free event: "Red, White, & Boca." The celebration will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mizner Park Amphitheater, located at 590 Plaza Real. The event will feature live music, guest speakers, a classic car show, and a veterans marketplace. Local veteran organizations and Mayor Scott Singer will be guest speakers.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10556 program at Veteran's Memorial Park

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10556 will present their annual Veterans Day Program at 9:30 a.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park located at 9400 W. Palmetto Park Road. This event honors veterans of our armed services and will feature a procession of colors, guest speakers and patriotic music. On Veterans Day starting at 11 a.m., all Panera Bread locations are offering veterans one regular-sized hot or iced coffee and a free choice of bagel.

How to participate: Service members and veterans must wear their uniform or present a valid Military ID or discharge papers.

Duffy's Sports Grill

Veterans eat free, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Offer valid with military ID for dine-in only. Limit of one free meal per veteran, maximum value $15. Cannot be combined with MVP Rewards, or any other coupon or discount. In addition to Duffy's Veterans Day deal, the restaurant offers active military 40% off food purchases every day.
