Homes and roads destroyed as Storm Hilary causes worst damage in 15 years’ says Nevada fire chief

Storm Hilary has caused the “worst damage in 15 years”, a fire chief in Southern Nevada has said.

Mount Charleston Fire Protection District Chief George Gonzalez spoke of the devastation after seven inches of rain hit the area.

Homes and roads have been destroyed as these devastating images show, while a flash flood warning remains in place.

Gonzalez said: “Once the weather clears up, there is a lot of cleanup ahead. Right now, essential vehicles and personnel are the only ones being allowed through to respond to flood issues on the mountain.”
