Holmes County Auditor reminds residents to purchase dog tags

The Holmes County Auditor’s office will send postcards to dog owners who did not purchase 2024 tags.

The tags can be purchased at the Auditor and Dog Warden offices.

The fee is $34 per dog, which includes the late penalty. For owners who no longer have a dog, contact the Auditor’s Office so names can be removed from the list of dog owners.

The deadline for license fees was Jan. 31.

Auditor Jackie McKee said about 735 dog owners are delinquent.

The Holmes County Dog Warden’s office will pay visits and issue minor misdemeanor citations to dog owners who have not licensed their dogs.

For more information, call the Holmes County Auditor’s office at 330-674-1896 or the Holmes County Dog Warden at 330-674-6301.
