Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring shares hair transformation

Hollyoaks veteran Stephanie Waring has chopped off her hair, sharing her new 'do in two new snaps posted to her social media.

Waring, who has been playing Cindy Cunningham on the Channel 4 soap since 1996, debuted a new haircut in an Instagram post.

The actress, whose other credits include Doctors, Holby City and Coronation Street, traded her longer locks for a short bob in a cooler blonde hue.

"I did a thing," the star captioned her two selfies, adding a scissors emoji for good measure.

Her Hollyoaks co-stars were wowed by the transformation, with several sharing positive comments.

"Oh my god I LOVE IT!!!!!" Scott Drinkwell actor Ross Adams wrote, to which Waring replied: "yay I'm so happy!!!"

Anna Passey, known to Hollyoaks fans for playing Sienna Blake, also commented: "Ooooh I love it!!!" while Jessica Fox, who recently returned to the soap in the role of Nancy Osborne, wrote: "GORGE" with three fire emojis.

Other Hollyoaks stars, including Jennifer Metcalfe, Nikki Sanderson, and Chelsee Healey, as well as Waring's on-screen partner Dominic Power (who plays Cindy's love interest Dave Chen-Williams), also shared their appreciation for the new haircut.

Earlier this month, Waring took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute to former co-star Erin Palmer following her soap exit. Palmer, who portrayed Cindy's niece Ella Richardson, left Hollyoaks when her character was tragically killed off in a car accident on January 16.

"Erin it has been an absolute pleasure to work alongside you these last few years and watch you grow into a wonderfully gifted young actor," Waring wrote in her message.

"So professional, extremely intelligent, you have taught me so much. I am so sad you have left us and I miss you. However I know that you will go on to do such wonderful things in your life and career."

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
