Hollyoaks star Owen Warner has surprised fans with a picture of his girlfriend's famous dad, Jason Donovan.

The actor, who plays Romeo Nightingale on the soap, took to Instagram on Thursday (Janaury 4) to share snaps of a recent skiing holiday with girlfriend and former co-star Jemma Donovan – with her superstar dad in tow.

Captioned "Spent more time on my arse than on my feet," the post featured a carousel of snowy snaps. Among them, the Neighbours star was seen posing with the couple during an afternoon of R&R away from the slopes.

Fans were quick to share their surprise at Owen's famous relative. "Omg I didn't know shes Jason's daughter," one person wrote.

"As if Jason's your future father in law. Lush pics," another fan added, alongside a heart emoji, while a third said: "How did I not realise Jason was her dad?! I thought I heard an Aussie twang in her voice in Hollyoaks!"

Despite Jemma's character Rayne Royce being killed off a few months ago during a pool party, Hollyoaks fans have yet to find out the circumstances surrounding her death.
