Hollyoaks' Lucas Hay self-harm secret could be discovered

The following article contains discussion of themes including self-harm.

Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Thursday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Friday.

Lucas Hay's self-harm secret could be discovered by Frankie Osborne in Hollyoaks.

Earlier this week, Lucas began to harm himself as a way to cope with the shame he'd been made to feel about his romantic feelings for friend Dillon Ray.

Hollyoaks High headteacher Carter Shepherd has been trying to warp the mind of his student by claiming that homosexuality is a sin. His latest attempt at the disgraced tactic of conversion therapy was taking Lucas to meet his twisted pastor Declan Hawthorne to try to make him believe his feelings were wrong.

Carter and Declan put immense pressure on the teen, even telling him that his mother Amy Barnes's tragic death could have been avoided if Lucas's father Ste wasn't gay.

Thursday's (February 29) first-look episode saw Lucas cleaning up his house as a way to make up for trashing the Youth Centre recently.

At school, Carter continued manipulating Lucas by making him the captain of the Hollyoaks High football team instead of JJ Osborne. When Dillon offered to hang out with Lucas to celebrate his big promotion, Carter convinced Lucas to pursue a romance with Frankie instead.

Lucas appeared conflicted but later reluctantly asked Frankie out for a lunch date. As the two had a kickaround, Frankie accidentally kicked the ball right into the area where Lucas had self-harmed.
