Hollyoaks' Freddie to spark huge showdown with Warren

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks' Freddie Roscoe risks the wrath of Warren Fox next week as he returns to the village to protect Mercedes McQueen.

Freddie's comeback storyline is sparked when Mercedes decides that she needs back-up amid Warren's latest out-of-control behaviour.

Early next week, Warren demands help from Mercedes with some criminal activity, as he wants her to launder money through the garage.

Mercedes refuses, which leaves Warren furious. Prince McQueen witnesses the row and jumps to Mercy's defence, but Warren turns threatening and throws something at him.

Warren's intimidation tactics grow further when Mercedes finds a threatening message left on the garage door.

Mercedes scoffs at the warning and tells Warren that she's not scared of him. Prince becomes worried about Mercy's safety, but his family all urge him to stay out of the feud for his own sake.

Before long, Warren goes a step further by targeting the McQueen house. Mercedes once again fights fire with fire by trashing The Loft, but this puts her in another dangerous situation with Warren.

When Mercedes realises that Warren really could pose a threat to her, she makes a secretive phone call asking for someone's help.

Warren seeks his own guidance when he breaks down in front of his mum Norma Crow. He admits that he's considering leaving the village, but Norma encourages him to stay and make amends with Mercedes.

The villain goes ahead and tries to apologise to Mercedes, but it may already be too late to settle the dispute as her mystery contact is revealed – Freddie Roscoe is back in town and ready to stand up to Warren on her behalf.

Darren Osborne is surprised to see his brother back in the village when he's supposed to be on the run. Freddie explains that he handed himself into the police some time ago and served his time for the attack on Nick Savage.

Although Freddie is back to help Mercedes, another agenda is teased when he tries to break into the 20-somethings' share house.

Lizzie Chen-Williams catches Freddie in the act, although he claims that he just wanted to look around as he used to live there. What is Freddie really up to?

Hollyoaks announced Charlie Clapham's return to the role of Freddie in January.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy at the time, Charlie commented: "It's very explosive. I don't know how to say this without being too R-rated, but Freddie is always in a position where he's either about to run, fight someone or potentially have sex! There's those three in every single scene!

"From what I've read and heard, Freddie is as glorious and flawed as he was before. It's going to be great to play that out. It just makes any interaction that Freddie has with older characters great as there's a history there, and it's brilliant with the new characters too."

Hollyoaks airs Freddie's return on Tuesday, April 2 on Channel 4 Streaming and Wednesday, April 3 on E4.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
