Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Monday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Tuesday

Romeo Nightingale is officially a man on the run.

During tonight's (March 11) instalment of Hollyoaks, Prince McQueen and Dilly Harcourt were stunned to realise that their taxi driver was escaped convict Romeo - the former being out for blood as old friend Romeo was the one responsible for his own imprisonment.

After a brief chase and some emotional words, the duo reconciled and agreed that Romeo would leave the village forever instead of going back inside.

"Please, please just help me one last time," he'd pleaded. "I love you like a brother. I get it if you wanna forget about all of this and move on with your life, but if I do go back to prison, if there's a little part of you that wanted to come see me then I'd really like that."

A forgiving Prince replied: "Nah, I don't think so... do you wanna know why? Because you're not going back to prison and I'm gonna help you get out of here."

Romeo managed to call his dad James Nightingale and Peri Lomax before slipping through the police's fingers. They turned up at the scene just as he was ready to make a dash; James handing him a fake passport and £50,000 in cash.

The fugitive then hopped on the late Rafe Harcourt's horse, bid his loved ones goodbye, and raced off into the distance.

Until next time?
