The Christmas season will kick off in Plaucheville Saturday when the 2nd Annual Holly Jolly Christmas Market comes to town.

The market will be held from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Plaucheville Community Center, 245 Highway 1181. Admission is free.

“It’s arts and crafts and other things,” said Christine Fontenot, owner of AppleDog Crafts, who is hosting the event.

Booths will be located inside the center, outside on the side of the building and under the pavilion. Vendors will sell various products like arts and crafts, food, toys bath and body products and clothing.

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will also be there to meet children. Mrs. Claus will be selling kettle corn.

For interested vendors, only contact Christine Fontenot, AppleDog Crafts, at this number (318) 717-2717 or appledogcrafts@gmail.com.

Fontenot said they’ve had issues with scammers on Facebook and wants to stress that the event is free to attend, and no tickets are being pre-sold.
