BIPOC Initiative Art Exhibition
What: Two new solo exhibitions under the umbrella of the Freeport Art Museum's Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Initiative opened Oct. 27. The third year of the BIPOC Initiative features visual artist and educator Nicole Davis based in Illinois, and Mexican American artist Stephen Signa–Aviles of Urbana, Ill. Davis works primarily in textile, photography, and painting. Signa-Aviles' works are sculptural manifestations that embody themes of memory, national identity, assimilation, and cultural hybridity.

Jesus Christ Superstar (Touring)
What: Jesus Christ Superstar is an iconic musical. In celebration of its 50th anniversary, a new production is touring. The production pays tribute to the historic 1971 Billboard Album of the Year. The show features award-winning music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. Jesus Christ Superstar is set against the backdrop of the series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas.
