Hoda Kotb Documents Daughters Sweet 'Back to School Cuts'

Hoda Kotb's daughters Haley and Hope are on track to have the freshest haircuts when they start school tomorrow, Sept. 6.

The Today Show co-anchor called in reinforcements today, Sept. 5, inviting the morning news program's hairstylist Laura Bonanni Castorino over for minor, back-to-school makeovers, sharing the results on Instagram this afternoon.

In a series of photos, Castorino trimmed the girls' hair in Kotb's kitchen, receiving a big hug from each one at the end of their at-home salon appointments as Kotb watched on with glee.

"Thank you to my pal @lbcastorino !" she wrote when she uploaded the photoset to the social media site. "The best Back to school cuts! First day of school tomorrow! 📚 🎒 ❤️."

The 59-year-old adopted her children with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman. Haley, 6, came first, completely changing her life. "I don't know what birth feels like, and I bet it was amazing, but this was really close," Kotb recently described the moment she found out she'd be adopting the girl.

Her second daughter, Hope, 4, is, in part, the inspiration behind the journalist's recently announced children's book, Hope is a Rainbow. When she was 3, Hope was hospitalized in the ICU with an undisclosed ailment. Though doing well, Kotb has said in the past that the girl faced "a longer road [of recovery]."

Of the book's title, Kotb said, "It just reminds me — and she just reminds me — that hope is all around every corner. No matter what you go through, no matter what hardship you endure, there she is."
