The Scottish Rite Theatre is back on the market after it had been pending a sale in March.

Realtor Julie Bielfeldt said the property is no longer under contract but she is still in frequent contact with the prospective buyer.

Bielfeldt said the prospective buyer, or whomever purchases the building, will "fall in love" with both Peoria and the historic Scottish Rite Theatre, which was renovated by Peoria developer Kim Blickenstaff.

Blickenstaff put $5 million into renovating the 100-year-old theater after he purchased it in 2019. It reopened in 2021 as an 800-seat gem in Downtown Peoria.

However, Blickenstaff listed the Scottish Rite Theatre and a handful of his other Peoria-area properties for sale in April 2023.

The asking price for the Scottish Rite is $6.8 million.
