Sofian Himeur has joined VARA Winery & Distillery as a winemaker. Himeur is the nephew of Laurent Gruet, a partner in the company, and has worked in nearly every aspect of wine production and sales. He began his career in wine at Gruet Winery, where he served as production manager, and sales and marketing specialist, before spending five years as assistant winemaker. He worked as operations winemaker at Domaine Chandon followed by two years as head winemaker at Iron Horse in Sonoma's Russian River Valley. He holds an associate's degree from Central New Mexico Community College.

The Meow Wolf Foundation has announced the 2023-2024 inaugural grantees from its community grant program. The program, with a total funding of $600,000, supports 63 organizations that reflect a wide range of arts and culture programs in New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and Texas.
