Hillsdale Hospital welcomes osteopathic family physician

HILLSDALEHillsdale Hospital’s Primary Care team recently welcomed Kristen Bracklein, DO, to Hillsdale Health & Wellness and Reading Health Clinic.

Bracklein comes to Hillsdale as a board-certified osteopathic family physician.

Bracklein has been practicing family medicine for 25 years and brings a wide variety of experience. She most recently practiced in Oregon before relocating to Michigan in December.

“I am excited to join Hillsdale Hospital’s primary care team,” Bracklein said. “I look forward to establishing trusted patient relationships and providing personalized care to patients and families.”

Bracklein attended medical school at the University of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa where she completed her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). She completed her Family Medicine residency at Bi-County Community Hospital in Detroit. She is board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and is a member of the Michigan Osteopathic Association. Bracklein has also been active with the American Red Cross as a certified instructor, having previously taught classes in Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR, AED and Wilderness First Aid.

“As we work to provide the most accessible primary care possible to our patients and community, bringing Dr. Bracklein onboard adds another stellar member to our roster of providers at Hillsdale Health & Wellness and Reading Health Clinic,” Rachel Lott, chief communications officer said. “We are looking forward to seeing her practice grow as she provides care to patients and their families.”

Family Nurse Practitioner Rachel Stump has resigned her position at Reading Health Clinic and Hillsdale Hospital wishes her the best in her future endeavors. Physician Assistant Andrew Scholl will join Reading Health Clinic as its primary provider upon Stump’s departure. Scholl, who has years of family medicine experience caring for patients in Hillsdale County and surrounding areas, will begin seeing patients in Reading on June 12.

“It is a privilege to care for friends, neighbors and community members in the primary care setting,” Scholl said. “I am excited to start up at Reading Health Clinic this summer to do just that.”
