Hillsdale College dedicates Lenda and Glenda Hill Stadium and TFO Partners Field

HILLSDALEHillsdale College dedicated the Lenda and Glenda Hill Stadium and TFO Partners Field on April 27.

The new facilities, on the north side of the Roche Sports Complex, were constructed to replace Simpson Field, the home of Chargers baseball and softball since 1961.

Hillsdale College President Larry P. Arnn spoke at the dedication.

“Every student who comes here, every faculty member who comes here, every visitor, every staff member, they all come for the love of what the thing is,” Arnn said. “This baseball field has grown naturally from the love that is produced by the objects that Hillsdale College serves. That is why we are so proud of it, so glad that it is beautiful, and so grateful to those who have made it possible.”

The stadium, made possible by a gift from twin sisters Lenda and Glenda Hill, includes a newly constructed grandstand with seating for 300 spectators, a press box, concession stand and bathrooms.

The new field includes state-of-the-art turf, lighting, and a new video board past the outfield fence. It was made possible by a gift from TFO Partners, a family of wealth management and trust services firms based in Ohio and owned by Hillsdale College alumnus and trustee Cleves Delp.

“We are excited to officially dedicate the Lenda and Glenda Hill Stadium and TFO Partners Field, and to recognize our generous donors and supporters who made the construction of this facility possible,” said Hillsdale College Athletic Director John Tharp. “It’s a great day for Chargers athletics and we are looking forward to a good crowd to help us celebrate.”

Following the ceremony, the Charger baseball team played a double-header against Kentucky Wesleyan College.
