BASEBALL

Division II

Barrington 7, Prout 4

Gabe Tanous was 2-for-5 with 2 RBI and 2 stolen bases as Barrington defeated Prout. Trevor Snow was 2-for-4 with 1 RBI for the Eagles (10-3) while Fin Thomson was 2-for-4. Luke Tanous contributed an RBI double. Barrington also turned a 1-6-3 double play and winning pitcher Jack Lawson started a first-inning pickoff play that erased a Crusader at third base. Matt Chofay belted a 2-run homer for Prout (7-6) in the loss.

Westerly 9, Ponaganset 8

Andrew Bozek was 3-5 with 3 RBI and 4 runs scored, Tom Fiore was 2-3 with 3 RBI and Jack Tenuta drove in two runs. On the mound, Zack Miner earned the victory for the Bulldogs after striking out 4 in 4 innings, and Tenuta fanned 5 in 2.2 innings in relief. For the Chieftains, Rowan Jay, Ethan Arnold and Ben McFree each drove in 2 runs in the loss, and Brady Lewis struck out 6 and allowed 9 hits in over six innings.

East Greenwich 8, Tiverton 1

SeanGiannelli threw his fourth complete game of the season to lead the Avengers over Tiverton. Giannelli also rapped two hits and scored a run. Van Martin, Anders Nelson and Anthony Mazzeo contributed a pair of hits each to the Avenger attack. Nolan Mercer had a single, double and RBI for Tiverton in the loss.

SOFTBALL

Division I

Chariho 2, Moses Brown 2

Both teams' pitchers turned in dominant performances, with the Quakers' Anna Costello striking out 15 through 8 innings, and the Chargers' Adriana Jeannenot fanning 20. Jeannenot also drove in a run, going 2-4 at the plate, to help her cause. Teammate Kaitlyn Daniels also was 2-4 on the day. Chariho managed 9 hits over the contest, while Moses Brown was limited to just 2.

Smithfield 13, East Providence 9

Sentinels leadoff batter Madison Kennedy was hard to keep off the bases, going 4-5, scoring 4 times and driving in a pair as Smithfield outscored the Townies. Crystal Cacador was 2-4 at the plate, and struck out 8 batters over 4.2 innings of work. Ella Desjardins and Haley Ellis also collected a pair of RBIs in the win. For EP, freshman Marianna Pina led the offense by going 2-4 with 3 RBI and Shelby Quinn also drove in a pair in the loss.

North Kingstown 8, Bay View 4

The Skippers' Mia D'Andrea homered, singled and got the win in the circle with 5 strong innings and 5 strikeouts. Gianna Amadeo finished up with two perfect innings. At the plate, Gabby Peralta hit a pair of triples, Kylah Lecomte had 2 RBIs and six different Skippers drove in runs. For the Bengals, Hope Myers and Ava Wasylow each recorded a hit and RBI.

Cumberland 5 East Greenwich 4

The Clippers broke a 3-all tie with a pair of runs in the bottom of the 5th and held on to defeat the Avengers 5-4. Piper Barata's solo home run and an RBI single by Cady Hebert were the difference in that inning. Barata ended up with a pair of hits and had 2 RBI pace the Clippers. Samantha Lombardi, Brooke Fairbanks and Margaret Neville had 2 hits each for the Avengers.

Division II

LNP 14, South Kingstown 3

Lauren Cipriano was all but unstoppable, going 3-5 with a home run and a double and driving in 5 runs, to pace the Lincoln/North Providence co-op to a rout of the Rebels. MakennaHeon drove in 4, going 2-3, and Charlotte Labossiere collected 3 hits and scored 3 times in the win. Jenna Navoin drove in 2 for South Kingstown and Abbie O'Rourke was 2-3 in the loss.

Division IV

Times2/PC/St. Pat's 18, Mt. Pleasant 6

The Providence Co-op's Cydnee Meekins had a home run, double and 5 RBIs, Nayshalee Reyes had 3 RBIs, and Yeidi Marte Alcantara recorded 6 strikeouts in relief.

BOYS LACROSSE

Division I

East Greenwich 13, Portsmouth 6

Cooper Lake led the Avengers (2-7) with 7 goals and Mikey Tobert netted 3 more. Ben Butterfield had 6 assists and goalie Brendan Darcey had 14 saves on 20 shots. For the Patriots (3-7), Teddy Gersen and Robert Mairs had 2 goals each and Jack Colna had 12 saves on 25 shots.

La Salle 20, Hendricken 6

The Rams keep rolling, dispatching the Hawks in this Division 1 contest. Matt Hayes led all scorers with 6 goals and 5 assists, Paul Boghosian had 5 goals and 2 assists and Ronan Peterson recorded 3 goals and 3 assists. In net, Connor Kelley made 8 saves. For Hendricken, KJ Lough had a goal and an assist and keepers Justin Baxter and Ruairi O'Connor combined for 12 saves in the loss.

Division III

Westerly 9, Narragansett 8

Alex Luzzi scored 4 goals, including what turned out to be the game winner with 30 seconds left in the contest, as Westerly edged Narragansett. Also contributing to the win were Caleb Williams (3 goals 1 assist), Ian Morissette (1 goal, 4 assist) and Luke Nelson (1 goal, two assists). Goaltender Ryder Casady had 19 saves for the Bulldogs. For the Mariners, William Perotti and Braden Masey each had a hat trick and 2 assists in the loss.

Division III

Lincoln 6, Scituate 5

Daniel London scored 4 times and Matt Harmon netted 2 more as the Lions edged the Spartans in this D2 contest. Goalie Landen Priesing made 11 saves. Lincoln improves to 7-2 and Scituate falls to 6-3.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Division II

Toll Gate 15, Pilgrim 4

The play of Adeline Areson (7 goals, 2 assists), Kaitlyn Plae (3 goals, 2 assists) and Delanie Wheeler (2 goals, 1 assist) helped the Titans upend the Patriots. Gracelynn Ferreira had a pair of goals and 1 assist for Pilgrim in the loss.

Division III

Westerly 18, PCD 4

Casey Macera scored 7 goals, Riley Peloquin found the back of the net with 4 tallies and Maggie Scannapieco completed a hat trick, as the Bulldogs walloped PCD. For the Crusaders, Emeline Turnbull scored twice and Maguerite Cuzonne and Ava Soch had a goal each in the loss.

Narragansett 15, East Providence 9

In what was a team effort, Narragansett's Ellie Wooten scored a team- high 3 goals, five other players each had 2 goals and and two other players had a goals each as Narragansett defeated East Providence. Kenna Winnington had 4 goals for the Townies and Kloey Iacovone added 3 more in the loss.

Division IV

Lincoln 17, Classical 12

The Lions were led by Spencer Cameron who netted 6 goals, followed by Faith Miguel (5 goals) and Skye Adam, Aliza Chan and Molly Comtois each had 2 goals each. Classical’s Sabina Carvalho and Simera Kapoor each had 5 goals in the loss.

Teddy Wallace had 20 kills, 2 aces and a block, and James Men 30 assists, 5 aces, 1 block in the win, 25-11, 25-13, 25-9.

Cranston East 3, North Smithfield 1

Charles Pincince led the Thunderbolts with 18 kills, Carlos Lora had 15 kills and Larry Yin recorded 15 digs in the win, 26-24, 25-20, 24-26, 25-18. For NS, Tom Matchett had 16 kills and 7 blocks.
