BASEBALL

Division I

St. Raphael 10, Chariho 0

Tyler Tremblay went 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBI, Michael Fausto recorded 2 hits and 2 RBI and Alexander Chamorro added a hit an 2 RBI in St. Raphael's shutout over Chariho.

Division II

Barrington 8, Woonsocket 3

Fin Thomson was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI as Barrington defeated Woonsocket. Also contributing to the victory was Miles Fontaine, whose two-run single keyed a five-run third. Pat Munger was 3-for-3 with 2 RBI for the Villa Novans. The Eagles, now 6-2, played errorless ball.

East Greenwich 4, North Providence 2

Avengers pitcher Sean Giannelli gave up only 5 hits and struck out 7 batters over 6⅓ innings to get the victory. Winslow Klika got the save. Ryan Fay, who was outstanding defensively at third base, had 2 hits and knocked in 2 runs, including the game-winner. Alex DeTomasis also had 2 hits for East Greenwich.

Johnston 9, Middletown 3

Johnston starter Emmanuel Rios gave up three runs on eight hits over 6⅔ innings to get the win. He struck out six and walked only one batter. Armani Arias led the Panthers with three RBI from the No. 8 spot in the lineup. Evan LeVasseur started on the mound for the Islanders and went six innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits. He also had three hits, including a home run, a double and a single. Johnston evens its record at 4-4 while Middletown falls to 3-6.

Division III

West Warwick 12, Providence Country Day 0

The Wizards (7-0) put up 7 runs in the second inning, opening the floodgates for 5 more the rest of the way as they blanked PCD using a balanced offensive attack. Joseph Rivera and Nick Andruchow each drove in a pair. Dominic Carollo struck out 12 batters over 5 innings to earn the win. For PCD (3-4), Tyler Stanzione recorded the Knights' lone hit in the loss.

SOFTBALL

Division I

La Salle 10, North Kingstown 0

The Rams improved their record to 7-0 on the season with a shutout over the Skippers. La Salle's starting pitcher, Kayleigh Gouchie, a freshman, went the distance (5 innings, due to the mercy rule), allowing only 3 hits while striking out 6. The offense was led by Diana Hall, who had her fourth homer of the year, Lily Roumelis who went 2-for-3, both doubles, and scored 2 runs and Elle Kershaw, who went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.

Cumberland 10, Moses Brown 0

Lacie Grenier homered, doubled and drove in 5 of her teams runs as the Clippers went on to blank the Quakers. Jillian Ryone took the mound for Cumberland and earned the win allowing only 2 hits with 13 Ks.

East Providence 5, Cranston West 4

The Townies grabbed their first victory of the season in walk-off fashion over the Falcons. EP was down 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th inning, when Emma Boisseau (3 RBIs) doubled, scoring Audrey Bernard and Mackenzie Pimentel. Cassie DuLude earned the win, allowing 11 hits, and 4 runs over 7 innings, striking out 4 and walking 2. For the Falcons, Mia Crudale took the loss after surrendering 2 runs, striking out seven and walking three. Sofia Marella led the Falcons, going 3-4 at the plate.

Prout 6, East Greenwich 5

For Prout, Mia Boyajian drove in two runs and Molly Green was 2-2 with a pair of runs scored as the Crusaders edged the Avengers in their Div. I clash. Lucy Kaiser pitched a complete game, allowing a pair of earned runs and striking out 7. East Greenwich pounded out 8 hits in the loss, and scored 3 in the 7th to nearly force extra innings. The victory keeps Prout unbeaten at 6-0, while EG slips to 4-4.

Pilgrim 4, Bay View/PCD 1

Pilgrim’s Gretchen Dombeck struck out 11 batters and surrendered only three hits in seven innings to get the victory. She also singled in the second inning to drive in two runs. Genna Damato, Audra McDonnell and Adrianna Pettinato had two hits each for the Patriots. Hope Myers started on the mound for the Bengals and pitched six innings, giving up eight hits and four runs. Ava Wasylow had two hits for Bay View/PCD and Gianna Paolino drove in the Bengals’ only run.

Division II

Lincoln/North Providence 17, Burrillville 4

Mariana Xavier was 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI and 3 other players — Makenna Heon, Caroline Ricci and Madilyn Sheehan — each had a pair of RBI in the North Providence/Lincoln victory. Burrillville's Emma Leduc had a solo homer for Broncos.

Division III

Cranston East 2, Pawtucket 0

Isabella Sousa threw a complete-game no-hitter, striking out 15 in the process, as the Thunderbolts blanked Pawtucket. At the playe, Sousa was 1-3 with a run scored and Kiara McGarty was 2-3 with a run scored. Janayah Gordon threw six innings for Pawtucket, striking out 13 and allowing 7 hits in the loss.

BOYS LACROSSE

Division IV

Rogers 7, North Providence 3

David Rivera and Max Martland each netted 3 goals for the Vikings. Brayden Ward and Reise Butler combined for 10 saves and Jay McDowell's solid defense helped Rogers improve to 3-2 in league play. For the Cougars (2-5), Weston Cooper, Colin Dorgan and Cameron Reyes each scored. Camden Reed had 15 saves in the loss.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Division I

North Kingstown 9, Cumberland 8 (OT)

Mya Macchioni had 3 goals and Jordan Parris recorded 3 goals and 3 assists as the Skippers edged the Clippers on Phoebe Pully's overtime winner. River Anderson made 8 saves to secure a tight victory for NK (3-0). For Cumberland (4-2), Izzy Beitler had 3 goals and an assist and Maddie Estes made 16 saves.

Division II

Smithfield 10, Toll Gate 9

Smithfield had balanced scoring as the Sentinels edged Toll Gate by a goal to improve to 3-3 on the year. Isabella Bettencourt bagged four goals and Annabelle Lally supplied a trio of scores. Avery Areson had a pair of goals and assists and Taylin Giguere made 12 stops for Smithfield. Adeline Areson tallied four goals and two assists in the loss for the Titans.

BOYS TENNIS

Division III

Coventry 7, Central 0

Nathan Malinow beat RichardoRibera, 6-4, 6-1, and Andrew Travison beat Edwin Ruiz, 6-2, 6-2, to help the Oakers blank the Knights. Kyle Bowden, Kashna Patel and No. 1 doubles team Johnny Dye and Denzel Costa all recorded victories, as well.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Division I

Cranston East 3, East Greenwich 0

Charles Pincince led the Thunderbolts to the shutout with 12 kills. He was helped by teammate Larry Yin with 23 digs in the victory (25-14, 25-17, 25-18).

LaSalle 3, Coventry 1

Ephraim Abhulime led the Rams with 18 kills, 7 digs and 4 aces. Ali Abdur-Razzak had 33 assists and 17 digs in the victory (30-28, 25-18, 19-25, 27-25). For the Oakers, Masiah PrakPreaster made 11 kills, 9 digs and 5 blocks.

Division II

East Providence 3, Pilgrim 1

The Townies got solid efforts from DJ Lepine (15 kills, 12 digs, 5 aces) and Jordan Rodrigues (12 kills, 12 digs) and upended the Patriots, (25-10, 25-22, 23-25, 25-16).

Division III

Central Falls 3, EWG 1

Jameson Depina Almeida had 30 kills and 6 aces and teammate Jovanny Lopez dished off 28 assists helping the Warriors overcome an 0-1 deficit and take the next 3 sets to defeat the Scarlet Knights (24-26, 25-22, 25-18, 25-17). Anden Fry had 11 kills and Robert Zompa had 23 assists for EWG in the loss.

T2/PC/St. Pats 3, Davies 2(25-19, 14-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-7)

GOLF

Prout 149, Westerly 184

Top 6 finishers were Rocco Capalbo, who shot a 35, Harris Krupp (36), Caleb Burnett (37) and Alec Morrone (41), all for Prout. Westerly's Jake Calhoun and Prout's Matt Speltz each shot a 44 at Shelter Harbor Golf Club in Charlestown.
