HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Lawrence's 31 helps Sandwich girls basketball remain unbeaten

The Sandwich Blue Knights girls basketball team remained undefeated to start the year, and improve to 8-0 with a 66-43 win over Middleboro on Friday. Maddie Lawrence had 31 points along with nine rebounds. Aubrey Schwager had 16 points, and Paige Morrison added 10. Sandwich used a 25-5 run in the second half to pull away.

Girls Basketball

Bourne 68, Dighton-Rehoboth 31: Paige Meda finished with a game-high 24 points to help the Lady Canalmen (6-0) stay undefeated to start the year. McKinley Wenzel added 13, and Reaghan Blake added eight.

Monomoy 53, Nantucket 24: The Sharks (2-4) beat the Whalers (1-6) behind 21 points from AJ Gates, and 14 from Kylie Mawn. Maddy Lombardi had a team high nine for the Whalers.

Nauset 43, Wareham 30: The Warriors get back to .500 on the season, and are 4-4.

Abington 47, Mashpee 26: The Falcons have lost four straight after a 2-0 start to the season and fall to 2-4.

Boys Basketball

Bourne 92, Dighton-Rehoboth 67: After jumping out to a 19-2 lead, the Canalmen improved to 7-0 on the year with a win over Dighton-Rehoboth. Nate Reynolds led the way with 25 points, Leo Andrade had 23, Mike Dankert added 16, and Emory Robbins had 10 off the bench.

Dennis-Yarmouth 66, Nantucket 52: The Dolphins improve to 4-2 after completing a second half comeback over the Whalers (4-3). Elijah Seawright led the way with 16 points, while Trey McPherosn added seven points for D-Y. Jack Halik led Nantucket with a game-high of 19 points, and Dwayne Martin added 14 points (four three-pointers).

Abington 66, Mashpee 29: The Falcons drop to 5-4.

Sandwich 55, Middleboro 53: The Blue Knights won a tight game to improve to 4-3. Cole Rodgers led the way with 17 points, while Dan Oman also finished in double figures (11). Matt Murray added eight points and four rebounds.

Wareham 89, Monomoy 42: The loss drops the Sharks to 5-2.

Norfolk Aggie 58, Falmouth Academy 54: The Mariners are now 2-3.

Tri-County Reg. 57, St. John Paul II 29: The Lions fall to 0-6 despite a season-high of 14 points from Matt Curley. Teddy Cordeiro added another six points from the foul line for the Lions.
