BASEBALL

Division II

East Providence 4, Middletown 3

Tim Robitaille scattered seven hits and two runs over 6⅓ innings, striking out 11 and walking three, as he helped the Townies improve to 7-0 with a win that took 8 innings. Jacob Mello led the Islanders (3-7) with 3 hits.

East Greenwich 4, Ponaganset 0

The Avengers' Sean Giannelli took just 65 minutes and 63 pitches to throw a 2-hit shutout over the Chieftains. Giannelli took a perfect game to 2 outs in the sixth. He struck out 7 and walked none for his third win in a row. Cade Thomas drove in 3 for EG with a double and sac fly. Alex DeTomasis, Alex Tullo, and Anthony Mazzeo chipped in with 2 hits apiece for EG.

Division III

PCD 3, Davies 2

West Warwick 10, North Smithfield 0

Backed by an offense that produced 15 hits, West Warwick's starting pitcher Dominic Carollo turned in a complete-game effort (5 innings due to the mercy rule) to shut out the North Smithfield. Carollo was dominant as he allowed only 3 hits while striking out 11. Taking care of the offense were Joshua Pedus and Caden Denton, who had 3 hits each, and Zachary Lawrence and Logan Dean who had 2 RBI apiece.

SOFTBALL

Division I

St. Raphael 6, East Providence 2

McKenna Mare was 2-for-4 with 3 RBI and Ella Taylor went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI in the Saints' victory. Emily Martin picked up the win by pitching 4⅔ inning of scoreless 1-hit ball. Shelby Quinn was 2-for-3 for the Townies. St. Ray's improves to 2-6, while EP falls to 1-9.

Coventry 1, Moses Brown 0

After Liliana Bell doubled in the sixth inning, Addison Kerwin tried to bunt her to third. But an infield error resulted in a run and that was all the scoring as Coventry eked out the win, its 10th without a loss. Sage Soares, who scattered 3 hits while striking out 12, was the winning pitcher. Anna Costello struck out 18 while allowing only 4 hits and was the hard-luck loser for the Quakers, now 2-7.

Division III

Davies 11, Tiverton 9

Both teams brought out their hitting sticks but Davies outhit Tiverton, 18-7, and outlasted the Tigers. Catcher Madison Blanchette had 2 hits with 4 RBI and teammate Kylie Robert went 4-for-5 to lead the way for the Patriots. For the Tigers, Lia Doster and Lyla Staskiewicz each had hits and drove in 2 runs apiece in the loss.

Rogers 14, Mount St. Charles 4

Brynn Palmer led the Vikings with 4 hits, including a double, and 2 runs scored. Taylor Gray and Jasani Ramos each had 4 hits and 4 runs scored. Tess Margolis earned the win, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits while striking out 4. Kristah Leclair had a hit and 2 runs scored. Mia Norris and Madeleine Belisle each scored a run for Mount.

BOYS LACROSSE

Division I

Moses Brown 11, Mount St. Charles 7

Andrew Corsi scored 4 goals and teammates Reese Chase and PeterSarnowski scored 2 each in the Quakers win over the Mounties. Nathan Murray and Pat Murphy each scored 2 goals for the Mounties.

Division IV

Rogers 14, North Providence 4

The Vikings built a 12-0 lead in the first half and cruised to their fifth win in eight decisions. David Rivera finished with 5 goals, Max Martland contributed with 4, Connor Hole-Young had 3 goals and 1 assist, Luke Matthews had 1 goal and 4 assists and Brayden Ward had 9 saves in the win. Colin Dorgin had 2 goals and Jeffery Gartsu and Nick Iozzi had a goal and an assist for the Cougars, now 2-8 Their goalie, Camden Reed, made 10 saves to keep it close.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Division II

Burrillville 13, Smithfield 6

Emilia Ferraro paced the offense and made some history along the way, guiding the Broncos to a 13-6 win over the Sentinels. Ferraro, a senior, scored four goals for Burrillville, including the 100th of her career. Olivia Fullam was a huge help on offense as well, scoring three goals to go with two assists. Victoria Steele also added two goals and Olivia Ferraro made 19 saves in net.

Division IV

Lincoln 9, Johnston 2

Senior Taylor Marsh found the back of the net 5 times and Molly Comtois produced a hat trick, helping the Lions upend the Panthers. Sam Marcotte and Irais Alcorta-Franco scored the Johnston goals.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Division II

East Providence 3, Westerly 0 (25-22, 25-11, 27-25)

DJ Lepine led the Townies (7-3) with 15 kills, 12 digs and 2 aces, Pedro Mederios had 5 kills, 5 digs and 2 aces. For Westerly (4-4), Henry Kenyon had 3 kills and 4 blocks in the loss.

Barrington 3, Central 0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-20)

Cam Kelley led the way with 10 kills, 2 aces and 7 digs, while James Ciummo contributed 8 kills and 2 blocks as the Eagles (8-1) earned a sweep. Komong Yang had 8 kills, 3 aces and 4 digs for the Knights, now 3-6.

Lincoln 3, West Warwick 0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-16)

Wayne McNamara had 14 kills, 4 aces and 13 digs and Austin Noel had 32 assists, 5 blocks, 2 aces in the Lions (6-3) win. For the Wizards (1-7), Alex Osmena had 6 kills, 8 digs and 2 assists.

Division III

Toll Gate 3, Mount Pleasant 1 (25-20, 25-10, 24-26, 31-29)

Thirteen kills and an ace by Austin Scotti led the way but Michael Pella-Sabourin (6 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace) and Jayden Glover (25 assists, 4 kills, 5 aces and 2 blocks) also made major contributions as the Titans improved to 7-4. The Kilties, now 4-6, got 15 kills and 2 blocks from Timmy Shodipe and 36 assists from Dakota Yuong.

BOYS TENNIS

Division II

East Providence 6, Narragansett 1

The Mariners' Ethan Smith gave Jaydon Amaral a battle in their third-singles match, but the Townie finally prevailed, 4-6, 7-6 (10-7), 7-5, and that helped East Providence to the victory. Luke Williams won at second singles for Narragansett's only point.
