HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Brianna Hanniford sets Dennis-Yarmouth High indoor track record

The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High Schoolgirls indoor track team competed at the Holiday Invitational at the New Balance Center on Wednesday.

Brianna Hanniford's 10.64 finish in the 60m hurdles set a new indoor record for the Dolphins, finishing 34th overall. Rose Ann Joachim also competed in the 60m hurdles and finished 42nd overall (10.81). Breanna Braham's 60.7 in the 400m Championship race earned her a sixth place finish, and it was the second fastest indoor time in school history. Olivia Pendleton ran the 2-mile in 12:15.47, which was the eighth fastest time for D-Y.

Boys Basketball

Mashpee 58, Cape Tech 40: Dantae Clark had a double double, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds, to go along with six blocks, as the Falcons (5-2) won the Cape Cod Tech Boys Basketball Holiday Tournament. Michael Barron finished with a game-high 15 points and added three rebounds and three assists. Ryan Araujo was also in double figures, scoring 12, and chipped in seven rebounds and three dimes. Ryan Triveri made an impact on both ends of the floor with eight points, four rebounds and four steals. Trevor Ryone finished with a team high 10 for Cape Tech (2-4), and Rovens Jean-Baptiste had nine in the loss.

Upper Cape 62, St. John Paul II 40: The Rams (4-1) bounced back from their first loss of the season to beat the Lions (0-4).

Girls Basketball

St. John Paul II 46, Upper Cape 28: Marlo Jumper again led the way as she claimed the MVP Award for the Cape Cod Holiday Tournament, leading the Lions (5-2) to the championship.

Plymouth North 48, Nauset 25: The Warriors fall to 2-3 this season.

Boys Hockey

Nauset 2, Scituate 1: Joe McManus scored the winning goal as the Warriors (4-1) picked up the road win. Zach Coelho played well in the cage, and Colin Ward was Nauset's other goal scorer.

Wellesley 5, Falmouth 4: The Clippers (1-4) came out on the wrong end of a nine-goal thriller. Ethan Santos had a goal and an assist for Falmouth in the loss. Kody Pokraka, Chase Briggs, and Charlie Bardelis all scored, and Travis Smith added an assist.

Girls Hockey

Falmouth 4, Longmeadow 1: The Clippers improve to 5-1 on the season, and won their Holiday Tournament. Casey Roth scored twice to lead the way, while Avery Johnsen and Maeve Turner both also found the back of the net in the win.
