High school baseball: Vote for the Varsity 845 player of the week (April 15-21)

Online voting for the Varsity 845 baseball player of the week for April 15-21 is now open. Go to RecordOnline.com/sports and vote as often as you like until 11 p.m. on Saturday (no computer bot voting, please).

Nominations are pulled from reports to Varsity 845 and other sources. Players from Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties, plus Delaware Valley (Pa.) are eligible. One player per school is permitted during each week.

2024 SEASON: Section 9 baseball scores, schedules

The winner will be announced via X / Twitter @Varsity845. Previous winners can become eligible again once the postseason has begun. The first three winners were Kyle McDermott of Monroe-Woodbury, Mason Gove of Burke Catholic and Rudy Cherry of Middletown.

Tyson Fernandez, Marlboro

He had four hits and two RBI in the Dukes’ 10-9 setback to Wallkill on Tuesday.

Brady Fandl, Pine Bush

He posted a triple, two singles and three RBI for the Bushmen in an 8-3 win over Kingston on Wednesday.

Justin Freeman, Valley Central

He had four of VC’s 15 hits as the Vikings edged Cornwall 10-8 on Monday.

Alex Ramos, Goshen

He fanned 16 batters over five-plus innings as the Gladiators nipped Valley Central 4-3 on Tuesday.

Ebert had a double, three singles and four RBI to lift the Bulldogs past Tri-Valley 11-4 on Monday.

Andre Jenkins, Chester

He fanned 10 over six innings as the Hambletonians nipped Beacon 4-3 on Monday. He posted a single, double, triple and three RBI in an 18-0 rout of Liberty on Friday.

Austin Swett, Tri-Valley

His double, two singles and three RBI led Tri-Valley in an 11-7 setback to Livingston Manor on Tuesday.

Josh Warming, Eldred

He struck out 17 batters and added a home run and two RBI as the Yellowjackets topped Seward8-2 on Tuesday. Warming had three RBI in a 27-2 win over Fallsburg on Wednesday.

Jacob Wright, Ellenville

He struck out 11 as the Blue Devils beat Rhinebeck 6-4 on Wednesday.
