Yan Dhanda has asked "when will it stop?" after a Hibernian supporter was detained by Police Scotland following the Ross County midfielder's claim that he had been the subject of racial abuse during their Scottish Premiership match on Saturday.

Dhanda raised the incident with match referee Don Robertson, who then informed the fourth official, in the 30th minute of County's 2-1 victory at the Global Energy Stadium in Dingwall.

The 25-year-old England-born son of Indian parents said on X: "Abusing someone for their background/colour of their skin is as low as it gets.

"Clearly, the punishments aren't strong enough. When will it stop?"

Dhanda has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Hibs' city rivals, Heart of Midlothian, this summer.

His current club said in a statement: "Ross County and Hibernian have worked with Police Scotland to identify the male suspect, who has now been detained.

"There is no place for this in our game or society as a whole."

Hibernian said they would take "the strongest possible action against anyone identified in making discriminatory and hateful comments".
