HGTV's Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge is the can't-miss crossover event of the year for fans of the Mattel doll and frequent watchers of the network. The premiere episode of the competition series is finally here, and it sets a strong tone for all of the hot pink, toy-like designs to come. Better yet, the rooms feature actual items seen in the upcoming Barbie movie.

During the hour-long debut, designers Mike Jackson and Egypt Sherrod face off with designer Jasmine Roth and chef Antonia Lofaso. Jackson and Sherrod are tasked with creating a 1990s-inspired entryway, living room, and dining room, while Roth and Lofaso take on the kitchen and family room with a 1960s eye. Not only does each team nail their given decade, but their spaces include props that appeared in the Barbie movie.

Right as visitors enter the home, they're met with a headless mannequin sporting the neon outfit actress Margot Robbie skates around in as Barbie. In early images from the film's production in Venice Beach, California, she was spotted in the outfit with Ryan Gosling as Ken wearing a matching ensemble. The costumed mannequin fits right into a nook near the home's grand hot-pink staircase, which Jackson and Sherrod painted in a lacquer finish to create the illusion of shiny plastic.

In the kitchen, the fridge is stocked with milk props from the Barbie movie. The toy-like items include a hemp drink, flax drink, and cow's milk because you can never have too many milk options—especially in Barbie's kitchen, which always needs to be fully stocked.

Since each team's project shows off a piece of the film, we have high hopes the subsequent rooms will boast movie-related objects too. It's easy to imagine Barbie's fuzzy pink pumps on display in a bedroom closet or one of the Kens's surfboards acting as decor near the outdoor pool. We'll be watching to see if our predictions come true!
