My Hero Academia studio announces new sci-fi series
Bones, the studio behind the anime adaptation of manga My Hero Academia, has announced a new anime called Metallic Rouge.
The studio that produced the wildly successful super-powered anime is turning its hand to a Blade Runner-esque project set to be available on streaming service Crunchyroll.
The official synopsis of the anime, available on its website, hints at a classic genre of human vs. other-style mayhem.
"A world where humans and androids coexist. Rouge, an android girl, with her partner Naomi, is on a mission on Mars. The mission is to murder nine androids who are hostile to the government."

The current trailer for the series has given fans a glimpse of (presumably) Rouge in a metallic exo-suit fighting with an android, as well as sweeping shots of a neon-lit cityscape.
Metallic Rouge will be produced by Bones for the studio's 25 anniversary.
Its chief director and creator will be Yutaka Izubuchi, with Motonobu Hori also directing.
The anime's screenplay is by Toshizo Nemoto, character design is by Toshihiro Kawamoto designing the characters and Taisei Iwasaki composes the show's music.

Anime studio Bones is most famous for adapting the My Hero Academia manga series.
Originally written by Kōhei Horikoshi, it has become one of the best selling manga titles of all time, with 85 million copies in circulation.
Set in a world where around 80% of the human population has gained superpowers called 'Quirks', the series follows Izuku Midoriya and his classmates at UA High School as they work towards becoming heroes.
Season six of the anime was released last year, and season seven was confirmed during the end credits of the season six finale. A fourth My Hero Academia film is also in the works.
Metallic Rouge is set to premiere in January 2024.
