Heritage Real Estate Co. completes acquisition of Santa Fe office complex

Apr. 8—Hotelier Jim Long's Heritage Real Estate Co. is now the owner of a pair of office buildings near Santa Fe Plaza.

Florida-based CTO Realty Growth, the former owner of the office complex, announced the sale in March not long after Long and his team said they planned to buy the office buildings at 150 Washington Ave. and 125 Lincoln Ave.

Jackie Apodaca, vice president of Heritage Real Estate Co., said the deal closed March 18. A news release from CTO indicated the complex sold for $20 million, but Apodaca declined to disclose the purchase price.

The Santa Fe complex, which spans four stories, is home to The New Mexican's offices as well as The Bull Ring, Toyopolis, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, Ojo Optique, Regus and portions of La Boca. It is sometimes referred to as First Interstate Plaza.

Long's name carries much weight in New Mexico. He is the founder and CEO of Heritage Hotels & Resorts, which includes hotel properties like the Eldorado Hotel & Spa, Hotel St. Francis, Inn & Spa at Loretto and Hotel Chimayo in Santa Fe and other prominent hotels across New Mexico.

His real estate arm owns the Sawmill District, which includes Sawmill Market, and also the WaFd Bank Building in Downtown Albuquerque, among other properties, according to its website.
