Here's who won the Register Star's Athlete of the Week honor for March 11-16

Forreston softball player Ella Ingram held on for the win in the latest Rockford Register Star high school sports Athlete of the Week poll for the week of March 11-16.

Ingram smacked two of her team's five hits and earned both of the runs batted in during Forreston's 2-0 win over Lena-Winslow in a key early-season NUIC matchup last Tuesday. Then she hauled in 3,125 votes for over 40% of the total in this week's poll to claim the AOW honor.

Other nominees were: Dakota's Braxton Niedermeier; Belvidere North's Paige Johnson and Cortlyn Hefty; Oregon's Emma Schlichtman and Teagan Champley; Forreston's Brendan Greenfield; Guilford's Zariah Burnett; and Forreston's Alex Schoohoven.
