Here's where to get fastnachts in Bucks County for Fat Tuesday

Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent, is almost upon us. And in Pennsylvania, that means one thing.

It's fastnacht time.

This year, Fat Tuesday falls on Tuesday, Feb. 13, and bakeries across the state are frying up thousands of the doughnut-like pastry in anticipation of high demand.

What is a fastnacht?

Fastnachts — fried Pennsylvania Dutch treats made from potato flour — come plain or covered in powered sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon sugar or glaze. Some bakeries, like Lochel's in Hatboro, even offer a stuffed version.
