Here's how local golf teams have fared this week

VICKSBURG — The Sturgis golf team finished eighth on Wednesday at a Wolverine Conference jamboree.

Three Rivers played on Wednesday as well, shooting a team score of 170 at the Hemlock course at Pineview. Sturgis shot a team score of 183. Vicksburg's score was 147.

Graeme Herald shot a 41 and Tyler Sikorski added a 46. Easton Barkby and Luke Frost both shot 48 while Beckett Lamb added a 50 and Cooper Barkby shot 52.

Sturgis got personal best scores from Sikorski, Frost and Lamb.

For Three Rivers, Nick Melville led the Cats with a 40 while Caleb Quake shot 42. Max Hoxie added a 43, Kaden Ratering and Vili Keranen each shot 45 and Bryston McGraw added a 48.

"I'm very pleased with our performance today," Three Rivers coach Pat Kline said. "We shot our lowest 9-hole score of the season so are making progress in the right direction and in one of these jamborees we will come out on the positive side of being just a few strokes better."

Sturgis also played on Monday, finishing with a team score of 195. Herald led the Trojans with a 42 and Sikorski shot 47. Frost carded a 50, Cooper Barkby shot a 56 while Easton Barkby added a 58.

"Right now, we're trying to get the younger boys involved at the varsity level to get them as much exposure as possible," Sturgis coach Nate Schwartz said.

SCAA Jamboree

Hillsdale Academy won a SCAA Jamboree at Hillsdale Golf & Country Club held on Monday. The Chargers shot a team score of 151 to run away from the field. Colon posted a score of 190, which tied Jackson Christian and Will Carleton Academy for second place. Mendon came in sixth with a 214.

Jonny Greenwald led Colon with a 46 and Owen Wilson added a 47. Kayden LeClair shot a 48, Dalton Williams a 49 and Kaleb Thaxton added a 68.

Mendon got a 41 from Cam Bingaman. Mason Wilczynski shot 57 while Jaden Behrends and Bailey Griffith each added a 58.

Burr Oak did not have enough players for a team score, but Giovanni Munoz shot a 58 and Brayden Miller carded a 64.
