Here's what you need to know for the 4 Big Bend baseball, softball teams in regional tournaments

The stage is set for four Big Bend baseball and softball programs as regional finals week has arrived.

The first set of teams that can book a spot in the state final four are Lincoln and North Florida Christian baseball, with Wakulla and NFC softball able to book a spot by the end of the week.

Baseball regional finals and softball semifinals will be played on Monday and Tuesday, followed by softball finals on Friday, there is a lot at stake for area programs as it is win-or-go-home.

If Lincoln baseball advances to the state final four, the program will head to Fort Myers this week for the state semifinal on Friday, May 17, and the state title game on Saturday, May 18.

Here is a breakdown of this week's schedule.

Monday, May 13

Class 5A Region 1 final: No. 1 Lincoln vs. No.3 Clay

The Trojans are one step away from the state final four after a 7-1 win over Escambia on Saturday evening, booking a spot in the region final for the first time since 2022. Myles Bailey led Lincoln with a 2-for-2 night, recording three RBI and a home run.

Holding the region's top seed, the Trojans will host the regional final against Clay on Monday night. The Blue Devils come into the final after a 12-0 win over Beachside.

With a chance to head to the program's first state final four since 2017, where the Trojans won the state championship.

A win books the Trojans a ticket to Fort Myers, with the 5A state semifinals set for Friday, and the state title game on Saturday.

Tuesday, May 14

Class 2A Region 1 baseball final: No. 2 NFC vs. No. 1 St. Johns Country Day

For the third year in a row, NFC will face off with St. Johns Country Day for a chance at making the state final four. The Eagles lost last year's regional final to the Spartans 10-5. The two teams faced off in the first game of this season, with St. Johns Country Day winning 4-3.

After beating St. Joseph Academy 2-0 on Saturday evening, the Eagles have a chance at getting back to the state final four, last making it in 2022 after beating St. Johns County Day in the regional final.

Garrett Workman gave the Eagles four innings on the mound, striking out five, giving NFC enough time to get two runs in the sixth inning to claim the win.

The game will be played at St. Johns Country Day in Orange Park, with the winner booking a ticket to Fort Myers. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m.

The winner advances to the state semifinals on Monday, May 20.

Class 2A Region 1 softball semifinal: No. 6 NFC vs. No. 2 Providence School

The Eagles defeated St. John Paul II in a district title rematch in the 2A Region 1 quarterfinals, beating the Panthers 9-1. Now, NFC (9-14) finds itself on the road with a date against the second seed in the region Providence School (10-12).

NFC fell in the regional semifinal round last season and now looks to book a spot in the regional final. The winner of NFC vs. Providence will play the winner of No. 1 University Christian and No. 4 Trinity Christian Academy on Friday.

Class 4A Region 1 semifinals: No. 1 Wakulla vs. No. 4 West Florida

The top-seeded Wakulla (23-3) continues its charge for a return to the state championship game, hosting West Florida (17-11) in a district title rematch on Tuesday night.

The War Eagles made it to the state championship game last season, falling to Lake Wales 7-2, and Wakulla has been determined to make it back to the final this season. The winner of the West Florida and Wakulla game will play the winner of No. 2 Baker County vs. No. 6 South Walton on Friday.

Softball regional finals will take place on Friday, May 17.
