Here's who just missed The Tennessean's 2024 Dandy Dozen

The Tennessean recently unveiled its 18th annual Dandy Dozen list, consisting of the top 12 class of 2025 college football prospects in the Nashville area entering the 2024 TSSAA football season.

Dandy Dozen selections were ranked from 1-12, leaving a few players who barely missed the cut.

Here is a look at eight Tennessee high school football players in alphabetical order who were considered for the list, but just missed.

Jon Adair

Lipscomb Academy | 6-5, 285 | OL

The three-star lineman is the No. 22 prospect in Tennessee and No. 54 interior offensive lineman nationally from the 2025 class, according to 247Sports Composite. He committed to Virginia in February over offers from Florida State, Vanderbilt, Purdue, Kentucky, Missouri, Duke and Virginia Tech.

Amir Leonard-Jean Charles

Lipscomb Academy | 6-4, 305 | DL

Why chosen: The West Virginia commitment is a three-star recruit ranked as the No. 21 prospect in the state from the 2025 class and No. 87 defensive lineman nationally. He registered 23 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a sack last season. He held offers from Tennessee, Michigan, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Texas and Florida among others.

Kyler Garcia

Pearl-Cohn | 6-5, 275 | DL

Why chosen: The Indiana commitment was a force in helping the Firebirds capture an unbeaten Class 4A state championship season a year ago. He had 55 tackles with 13 for a loss and four sacks as the Firebirds won their first title since 1997. He is the No. 29 player from Tennessee in the 2025 class and No. 122 defensive lineman nationally. His offer list includes Arkansas State, Ball State, Memphis, Purdue and Vanderbilt.

Sam Haley

Ensworth | 6-3, 220 | LB

Why chosen:The three-star linebacker and TCU commitment is the No. 25 prospect from Tennessee in the 2025 class. He finished with four sacks and five tackles for loss with 59.5 tackles, two QB knockdowns and four QB hurries last fall. His offer list includes Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, Missouri, Virginia Tech and Michigan State.

Kolbe Harmon

Brentwood Academy | 5-11, 175 | WR/DB

Why chosen: Harmon, a Duke commitment, was a bright spot during Brentwood Academy’s 2-10 season last fall. The three-star prospect caught 42 passes for 682 yards and nine touchdowns. He's the No. 27 ranked player from Tennessee in the 2025 class and holds offers from Tennessee, Wisconsin, Penn State, Missouri, Mississippi State, Michigan and Miami.

Eric Hazzard

Page | 6-4, 250 | DL

Why chosen:The Louisville commitment is a three-star defensive end ranked as the No. 35 player from Tennessee in the 2025 class. Last fall, he recorded 70 Tackles, 16 sacks and 30 QB pressures while helping Page reach the Class 5A state championship game for the third year in a row. He was named to the Tennessean’s All-Midstate first team, TSWA All-State and chosen as the Region 6-5A defensive player of the year. His offer list includes Wisconsin, Memphis, Western Kentucky and UAB among others.

TT Hill

Brentwood Academy | 5-10, 165 | ATH

Why chosen: Hill caught 58 passes for 568 yards and two touchdowns in his first season at Brentwood Academy, to go with 271 yards rushing and three TDs. He’s a three-star prospect ranked as the No. 35 player from Tennessee in the 2025 class. He has offers from West Virginia, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech and Memphis.

Ta’khyian Whitset

Antioch | 6-5, 275 | Offensive line

Why chosen: The Purdue commitment is a three-star recruit in the 2025 class and No. 26 prospect in the state.  He had 10 pancake blocks and didn't give up a QB pressure or a sack as an offensive tackle last season, while being named the Region 5-6A offensive lineman of the year. He also played on the defensive line. His offer list includes Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky, UAB, Toledo and Liberty, among others.
