Here’s Why Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde Broke Up After All

News of Olivia and Harry’s breakup (which is *technically* being described as a “break” for the time being) broke Friday, when multiple sources close to the pair confirmed their new ’ship status to People.
“He’s still touring and is now going abroad. She is focusing on her kids and her work in L.A.,” one of the People sources explained, giving the world an immediate bit of insight into the reasons behind the pair’s breakup/break/conscious uncoupling. “It’s a very amicable decision.”
This “hey, they’re broken up but still on AH-MAZING terms” sentiment was echoed by another source (or the same one, maybe—who knows when everyone serving up celeb goss is perpetually anonymous) who spoke to Page Six about the split.
“There is no bad blood between them. Harry didn’t dump Olivia or vice versa,” the source said, adding (seemingly as proof of how close the former couple still are?) that the relationship—which lasted almost two years—is “the longest relationship Harry’s ever had, so clearly they have a special bond.”
That special bond was still fully on public display as recently as Harry’s Harryween concert a few short weeks ago.
So if the vibe is still so great between them and everything was going strong as they approached their second anniversary of coupledom, why did Harry and Olivia break up? Like so many celebrities (and non-famous busy humans) before them, Harry and Olivia are being pulled apart by scheduling conflicts, mostly.
According to Page Six’s Harry and Olivia Breakup Experts, Harry is preparing to kick off the South America leg of his tour and Olivia has firm plans to head to London, where she will be busy filming a documentary and spending time with her kids, Otis, 8, and Daisy, 6. Apparently, Harry and Olivia decided not to wait for distance to officially drive them apart and preemptively paused their romance (presumably to leave the door open for a reconciliation if the timing is ever right).
“They’re on a break. It’s impossible to have a relationship when he’s in every continent next year and Olivia has her job and her kids,” the Page Six source explained. “This is the right thing for both of them.”
