All eyes are, once again, on Travis Kelce. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end sustained an ankle injury during Sunday night's game against the Minnesota Vikings, causing concern and speculation as to whether he might need time off from playing in order to fully recover.

Kelce rolled his ankle after he caught a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes late in the first half and subsequently slid on the turf. He limped off the field and underwent X-rays, but then returned in the second half to complete the game—albeit with a heavily taped-up ankle.

"I'm just out here being old as fuck and just offing myself... because nobody's doing this to me but me," Kelce joked in the next episode of the podcast New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother and fellow NFL star Jason. "I feel like a fucking jamoke, a grandpa, every single time I go out there and just injure myself," he added.

What happened to Travis Kelce's ankle?

“It was like basketball," explained Kelce on the podcast. "You're coming down off a rebound you just roll your ankle. It was unfortunate, you watch it in slow motion, my ankle kinda slips for a couple inches and then it finally grabs on the turf and that’s been the knock is that when you do slip you don’t just slip right through the grass."

“I knew I had to at least see if it was broken,” he continued. “Went in and got x-rays and from there knew that there was nothing structurally wrong with it so I could just tape that thing up and get back out there.”

Will Travis Kelce play tonight?

Chiefs fans are worried that Kelce's injury might prevent him from playing in the "Thursday Night Football" game against the Denver Broncos. His injury report officially lists his playing status as" questionable," but Chiefs coach Andy Reid remains optimistic about both Kelce's abilities and the team's chances.

"He’s got quite a little bit of treatment on it and he’s feeling better, which is good," Reid said Wednesday. "I’m just going to see, see how he moves around, see how he feels. He’s always been honest with me on things like that, and just see how he does."
