Heinz Launching New ‘Tangy and Savory’ Ketchup Flavor That’s a ‘Big Dill'

Heinz Ketchup

Heinz's lineup of ketchup just got a whole lot juicier.

The household brand recently announced it would release a new condiment practically guaranteed to become a cult classic–so what's the latest flavor? Well, let's just say it's a pretty big dill.

If you haven't put it together yet, the brand will be adding pickle-flavored ketchup to shelves at stores all across the country very, very soon.

As for what led to the company's decision to embark on the tangy new addition, aside from pickles and ketchup practically being BFFs, Heinz explained that it developed the tangy condiment flavor after conducting research into its customer base and tapping into what consumers need–even if they themselves don't know what it is they're looking for.

“Increased desire for tasty, yet unexpected condiments has served as our innovation north star for the last several years,” Katie Peterson, director of Heinz innovation at The Kraft Heinz Company, said in a statement. “The current pickle craze in America mirrors the irrational love HEINZ fans have for the brand, so it only made sense for our newest ketchup to blend these two beloved tastes together.”

According to an October 2023 Datassential report cited by Heinz, 73 percent of American consumers reported that they enjoy the taste of pickled cucumber, so consider this one less step to getting all your favorite flavors in one bite.

The Pickle Ketchup is said to be available wherever you buy your Heinz products sometime in early 2024.

The pickled condiment is just the latest in a series of experimental flavors released by the brand in recent years. Other perfectly seasoned versions of the condiment include Heinz Hot Varieties, Mayochup, seemingly Kranch, as well as the brand’s limited-edition Sauce Drops. Earlier this year, the brand unveiled the HEINZ REMIX™, allowing customers to personalize their ketchup flavors using a digital dispenser.
