Charli D'Amelio gained a dedicated fanbase of over 145 million followers (!!) after going viral for her dancing videos on TikTok during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the 18-year-old star is taking her talents to the iconic Dancing With the Stars dancefloor ā€” and she isn't doing it alone. Charli and her mom, Heidi, appeared on the 31st season of the dancing competition show.

Heidi and Charli weren't partners, but did compete against each other on the acclaimed show. The journey to the televised dance competition had been difficult for Heidi, who revealed to Page Six that she almost quit DWTS. "So, I was fine up until last Tuesday, and then Wednesday, rehearsal was awful, and I was on the verge of crying," the mom of two began."But I was like, 'I am not going to let [Artem] see me cry, I am not going to do that."

Heidi's youngest daughter Charli offered her sound words of encouragement that inspired her to stay on the show. "She told me everything I used to tell her when she was a kid and in dance," Heidi explained. "So to hear those words coming out of her mouth to me, I was like, 'Alright, I get it.' It was great advice." Heidi's oldest daughter Dixie was just as "supportive." According to the proud mom, both daughters lifted her spirits and inspired her to push through. "They were like, 'You're all in your head. Stop it right now," she added. "So, they helped get me out of that."

Charli and Heidi competed against several celebs, including Jordin Sparks, Shangela, Gabby Windey, Jessie James Decker, and Selma Blair. Charli partnered with two-time Mirrorball champion Mark Ballas, and Heidi teamed up with Artem Chigvintsev, who has also previously won a Mirrorball trophy.

Charli not only grew up as a dancer but has already gained experience with DWTS judge Derek Hough and his sister, Julianne Hough, on their show, Step Into...The Movies where they performed a routine inspired by the 1987 flick, Dirty Dancing.

Derek even vouched for Charli to be cast on DWTS in a 2021 interview with Hollywood Life, saying, "I think it'd be really cool to see one of the D'Amelio sisters on there. Charli's a really talented dancer, and she's obviously crushing it in the content TikTok world. I think she would be really good." Well, it looks like Derek's dreams for the D'Amelios are coming true!

Charli spoke to Good Morning America about the official announcement and whether she will break out the Renegade or other TikTok moves on the DWTS floor. "When it comes to the actual choreography, I would love to maybe do a little nod to why I am even here and what got me here, but I think Iā€™m really going to work on the technical parts of ballroom dance,ā€ she explained.

How are Charli and Heidi currently doing on DWTS?

Congratulations are in order for Miss Charli D'Amelio, who won the 31st season of "Dancing With the Stars," and the Mirror Ball trophy with partner Mark Ballas.

In a Good Morning America appearance on November 22, D'Amelio and Ballas opened up about their big win.

"I think for me, I really just gave everything I had to this journey, and I got so much out of it, whether it's confidence in my dancing, new friends, you know, memories that I'll remember forever," Charli said, adding that she's "so glad" and "thankful" to have been a part of the experience.

Ballas called his return to the "DWTS" ballroom in five years, "fantastic," saying, "I had a really lovely time, made a great friend, and had a great time creating and dancing with Charli."

Previously, during Week 8 of this season, and Charli maintained her spot at the front. She scored all 10s from the judges for her Tango with her partner Ballas, finishing out with a 40/40.

Heidi performed a contemporary piece that week with her partner Artem Chigvintsev, scoring three 9s and an 8 with a total of 35/40. Heidi was sadly eliminated at the end of the episode but left with compliments from the judges.

ā€œIā€™m definitely disappointed,ā€ Artem admitted to Page Six.ā€œI think whatā€™s hard is, this show becomes your life. For the past 10 weeks, this has been every second of [our] day ā€¦ I mean, you just breathe, and sleep, and even dream of this, of whatā€™s happening on the floor, right?ā€
