Heat and wildfires put strain on Idaho Power grid. Here’s how customers can help
The combination of excessive late-summer heat and wildfires in the region is causing a strain on the electricity grid, Idaho Power said on social media Tuesday, and the utility is asking customers to do what they can to “lighten the load.”
Idaho Power requested that customers to try to lessen their energy use until 9 p.m. each day, while saying on Twitter that it was “working hard to keep up with demand.”
We need your help to #LightentheLoad. Hot weather and fires across our region are straining the grid as we all try to keep cool and connected. We’re working hard to keep up with demand, but please reduce your energy use until 9 p.m.
