Heat’s Bam Adebayo helps his hometown during the holidays through his foundation

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo helped 10 high school students from Greensboro, North Carolina, with a holiday trip through his foundation last week.

The 10 male students were treated to three action-packed days in Miami, where they had housing, three meals a day as well as receiving various tours.

Those included an estate tour, squid dissection and career panel with Adebayo’s manager, chef and personal trainer on December 27; a riding tour of Miami, a visit to a recording studio, getting a Miami Marlins stadium tour and a meet and greet with Adebayo at the Heat-Lakers game on December 28; a personal ride in a Corvette, classes on dining, business and dress etiquette, a University of Miami tour and a book reading with discussion on Dec. 29.

Adebayo, who was 7 years old when his mother moved him to North Carolina, has given back to the Tar Heel State with the nonprofit Bam Adebayo Foundation throughout the last year.

The most recent, prior to the high school students’ trip to Miami, being a $2,500 donation to T. Wingate Andrews High in High Point, North Carolina, to feed 25 families in need for Thanksgiving.

At Vandalia Elementary School and Smith High School in Greensboro, Adebayo’s foundation provided 200 students with back-to-school supplies, while 16 teachers were each awarded $75 gift cards for classroom supplies all through a $5,000 donation.

Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day saw Adebayo’s foundation give 10 single mothers flowers and gift cards. For Valentine’s Day, the single mothers received a bottle of perfume and were treated to eat at Mimi’s Cafe with their children.

And the foundation gave 10 families full meals and helping 27 children within those families to receive their wish lists for Christmas 2021.
