For Blake Lively, what started as a personal passion project has quickly evolved into something much bigger: a full-fledged drink empire, in fact.

The actress and wife of Aviation Gin owner Ryan Reynolds, launched her line of non-alcoholic sparkling mixers in September 2021 before expanding her portfolio to include canned cocktails, Betty Booze. Now, canned Betty Buzz mocktails are on the horizon too.

"The mocktails and cocktails that I make are what you see in Betty Booze and now Betty Buzz Mocktails, so they’re all family recipes. And when I say family, I mean me. I’m the family," Lively tells Delish. "They’re just concoctions of mine that I’ve made over the years that have been popular or ones that I’ve made more recently."

The idea for her most recent launch, Betty Buzz Mocktails, developed much like her other projects: organically.

"Once I created Betty Buzz, I started making cocktails with it and that’s where Betty Booze came from," she continues. "While Betty Buzz is an amazing alternative to a cocktail, it’s still fruit juice and carbonated water, so it’s still quite simple."

As a non-drinker herself, Lively felt she was "underserving anybody who wanted a mocktail" after she created Betty Booze. Thus, Betty Buzz Mocktails were born, which are officially launching "soon," according to Lively.

"They all just happened from Betty Buzz. I never planned to make Betty Booze, but when I was making cocktails with Betty buzz, everyone who tried them would go, 'no you have to can the cocktails,' and then once we canned the cocktails, they’re like, 'how could you can the cocktails and not make mocktails.'"

It's also not the only launch on the horizon for Lively's burgeoning business. She's teaming up with celebrity Chef Daniel Boulud, whom she describes as "hugely meaningful to me as a fan of his."

Lively is not only bringing her sparkling beverage brand to his iconic New York City restaurants JojiBox, Blue Box Cafe, and Épicerie, but she's working alongside the chef—who she describes as a "creative at heart"—to incorporate her Betty Booze Sparkling Tequila with Smoky Pineapple and Sparkling Tequila with Lime Shiso into his curated Omakase Tasting Box. The Jōji Box by Betty B Tasting Experience will be available for fans exclusively during a limited-edition drop on May 22.

"You know that when you see his name on something it means quality, no matter what the cuisine is. You know if you see chef Boulud’s name, it’s going to be special," Lively says. "I’m just really excited to align with him with Betty Buzz and Betty Booze because I’ve worked so hard on this company to make it as delicious as possible, to make it really represent the quality that I appreciate as a person who likes to eat and drink delicious things."

The fact that she gets his "blue check verification of quality" is a huge compliment, says Lively. "It's one of the most meaningful endorsements I could ever receive. I'm really, really happy about it."
